Do you know how much fiber you’re consuming each day? Most people don’t, but it’s a safe bet that you would benefit from more!
As it turns out, the vast majority of Americans are not even hitting the paltry targets set by government entities like the FDA and CDC (guidelines are typically in the range of 25-30g per day). Instead, most of us are only eating 10-15g of fiber per day. Yikes!
Diverse sources of fiber are the necessary fuel for our beneficial gut microbes, which we know now can affect pretty much everything in the body. Fiber also helps with satiety and blood sugar balance too—it’s definitely not just about pooping or gut health when it comes to fiber.
In this episode I share more about why fiber is so important and explain which foods have it and which foods don’t. I also give you several easy and delicious ways you can start to gradually increase your fiber intake.
